The 74595 is a TTL-compatible logic integrated circuit designed as an 8-bit Serial-In Parallel-Out (SIPO) shift register with an integrated output latch stage. It allows serial data to be shifted in bit-by-bit and then presented simultaneously on eight parallel outputs.
